As 2024 comes to a close, let’s come together to embrace the spirit of the New Year with joy, culture, and community. The Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre is proud to host an exciting New Year’s Eve Celebration, packed with activities for all ages and a touch of tradition to create lasting memories.
This year’s event is more than just a celebration – it’s a chance to immerse yourself in rich cultural experiences, enjoy heartwarming family activities, and share the festive spirit with friends and loved ones. From creative workshops to live performances, from the dazzling Fire Dragon Parade to the spectacular countdown fireworks, this event has something special for everyone.
And the best part? Admission is absolutely FREE!

• 15:30–16:00: Lion Dance Performance

• 18:00–19:30: Lantern Competition
• 18:00–22:00: Free Movie Night - The Last Emperor (Free Online Registration)
• 19:30–22:00: Music Busking
• 22:30: Incense Dragon Parade (Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre to Prince’s Island Park)
• 00:00: Countdown Fireworks (Prince’s Island Park)
Family-Friendly Fun Awaits:
Kick off the afternoon with interactive kids’ workshops where little ones can express their creativity. Enjoy live music performances throughout the day that will keep your spirits high, marvel at the Lion Dance showcasing precision and tradition, and get involved in the vibrant Lantern Competition.
As the evening unfolds, relax with a cozy Free Movie Night or experience the magic of our Fire Dragon Parade, a stunning cultural spectacle winding its way to Prince’s Island Park. Finally, welcome the New Year with a breathtaking fireworks display lighting up the Calgary skyline!
